Handbag manicure set

A small manicure set, probably designed to be carried in a handbag, comprising a rectangular box made from multi-coloured pearlised cellulose nitrate sheet, with a pivoting hinged lid, and containing the remaining three pieces of the set. One side of the box is decorated across two opposite corners with a gold coloured geometric pattern. It is thought to date from the 1920s.
