Description
A small, green coloured, rectangular sample of compression moulded Parkesine (cellulose nitrate) sheet with a diamond pattern texture on one side and untextured on the reverse, circa 1860s. Parkesine is the tradename for the first man-made plastic. It was invented by Alexander Parkes in 1862.
