Blackbird Pie funnel

A silicone blackbird shaped pie funnel based on a traditional ceramic design. This example is moulded in silicone in two parts. The body and head of the bird are in turqouise blue and the beak moulded in yellow. When placed in the centre of a pie with the upper part of the funnel piercing the crust, the central vent allows steam to escape thus preventing the contents from spilling over. Made for Zeal, 2012.
