Description

One of a collection of 8 synthetic cork bottle stoppers. This example is silver grey in colour and has been printed with the words 'WAITROSE. Food shops of the John Lewis Partnership. www.waitrose.com'. There are two main methods of production of synthetic wine corks, namely injection moulding and extrusion. Advances have been made in production techniques which aim to replicate the cellular structure of natural cork to allow oxygen permeation to the same levels as that of natural cork.
