Description
A sample pair of bladders for Canterbury batting gloves CCC in-FL-8r, also known as the Bloater cricket glove, with air pumps attached, one with air valve. The bladders, made of colourless polyurethane, are high- frequency spot welded in lines and around their edges. They can be inflated to suit each individual wearer and provide, thus, protection combined with a snug fit whatever the size and shape of the wearer's hand. These bladders were designed by Teardrop Technologies for Canterbury UK in 2006. Teardrop Technologies, an innovative sports design company specialising in injury prevention, was set up by three sports technology graduates (John Cartwright, Tom Milsom and John Wood) from the University of Wolverhampton in 2004. The company ceased trading and was subsumed by Ayrtek in 2009. For an example of the glove see 005889.1.
