Box of 8 Dewhurst's Sylko sewing thread

A box containing eight reels of mid 20th century black Dewhurst's Sylko sewing thread, wound onto cardboard reels and sealed with a cellophane sleeve. The printing on each sleeve describes the thread as Silk Substitute and is branded Dewhurst's Machine Twist Three Shells Sylko. Each reel or cop contains 1oz or 28.3g of thread. The box is printed in gold, red and blue and has an oval panel in the centre carrying an image of Belle Vue Mills, Skipton, the site of the Dewhurst factory.
