Description
An opaque orange CD case with raised studs designed by Daniel Weil, a partner of Pentagram Design, for the Pet Shop Boys' 'Very' album whilst they were with the record company Parlophone. The design is intended to make the case a recognisable object in its own right as opposed to merely a cover for an identifiable image. It is made of polystyrene which can be transparent or opaque, it is always rigid, and easy to mould and colour. Note how it has taken up the orange of the CD case. It also has exceptionally high definition as in the shape of the studs on the case, which also hold the CD in place making their accurate positioning essential. The booklet and other graphics were designed by Mark Farrow.
