Description
An engraved beaker in cream coloured horn, c. early 19th century. The engraving depicts on one side, thistle, rose and shamrock plants emerging from a single tub and above is the name D.Smith. The reverse depicts a three masted ship at sea with masonic symbols above. The top rim of the beaker has a design of two mermaids supporting a garland of roses, thistles and shamrocks. The lower edge of the beaker is decorated with a simple trelis pattern. This natural plastic item forms part of the Worshipful Company of Horners collection.
