Photo: Cupola, 1 of 3

Cupola positioned on chapel. Photo caption: A cupola, fabricated from Bakelite polyester resins and reinforced with glass-fibre, suspended in mid air, minutes before the helicopter lowered the dome into position on the chape. The cupola was fabricated by Brylan Plastics Ltd, of West Thurrock, Grays, Essex, who also acted as consultants for the lifting operation. The helicopter had only a maximum of three minutes to hover over the tower because of fuel carrying limitations caused by the weight of the load. This item is part of the MoDiP BXL collection.
